The location is perfect for visiting family. We enjoyed time outside with the garden furniture, a lovely bonus in the sun. Breakfast options were good. The cook was accommodating with requests. The Standard Twin Room was a good size, but it wasn't the cleanest. There were cobwebs and some areas needed better attention. I ran into issues with the hot water in the shower. We had to turn the boiler on ourselves, unexpected. The WiFi didn't work in our room, so we had to go to the bar area for that. The atmosphere in the dining area was very relaxed.

The stay was absolutely fine. Everything was very good, the full English breakfast was totally worth it. Its staff was attentive and cooperative. The view was great and the bed was comfy. The service was excellent throughout our stay. Location: the hotel was close enough to the pub for meal, restaurant and countryside.

charming stay with room for improvement
The Standard Double Room was elegantly decorated and provided a cozy atmosphere that hit like home. The staff were genuinely friendly. I particularly enjoyed the good breakfast with fresh ingredients and a variety of options.
The WiFi connection in our room was unreliable, requiring us to venture to common areas for decent service.

Cozy stay with local charm
We enjoyed a lovely two-night stay. The staff were super friendly. Loved the bar area for chillin' after a long day, and the meals were really tasty, especially the belly pork! Just wish the WiFi was better in our room, had to chase it down in the lounge.

The Half Moon provided an excellent stay with a well-equipped room with a mini fridge and comfortable bed. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order with high-quality ingredients, and the dining atmosphere was lovely. The free parking and convenient bus stop outside allowed for easy travel to Newcastle.
The WiFi in the room was lacking.

Not ideal for the picky traveler
The evening meal was good, with an excellent menu choice! Breakfast was superb, definitely 10/10! Customer service staff were very pleasant and helpful.
It wasn't exactly a bargain, but still not terrible.

Staying at this place for 3 nights was a great experience; the location was fantastic as it was very close to a restaurant, and they had a main bar.
